Health Master's Scholarship – Distance Learning

The University of Edinburgh will offer 4 Master’s scholarships for eligible distance learning Master’s programmes offered by the University.

Scholarships will be available for students pursuing one of the following Global Health Academy programmes:

  • MSc Biodiversity, Wildlife and Ecosystem Health
  • MSc Clinical Education
  • MSc Clinical Management of Pain
  • MSc Clinical Trials
  • MSc Global Heath and Infectious Diseases
  • MSc Global Health and Non Communicable Diseases
  • MSc International Animal Health
  • MSc International Animal Welfare, Ethics & Law
  • LLM Medical Law & Ethics
  • MSc One Health
  • MSc Paediatric Emergency Medicine
  • MSc Science Communication and Public Engagement
  • MSc Translational Medicine
  • MVetSci Conservation Medicine

Each distance learning scholarship will have a total value over the duration of the programme of £9,000 which will be deducted from the tuition fee for the entire part-time programme of study.

Eligibility

The scholarships will be awarded to students who are accepted for admission onto an eligible Global Health Academy programme at the University of Edinburgh. Applicants must be both nationals of and resident

Criteria

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree at undergraduate level or the international equivalent.

Eligible applicants should complete an online scholarship application.

The closing date for applications for these scholarships is 30 May 2014.

When completing the personal statement of the scholarship application form, please indicate why Distance Learning suits your particular circumstances making reference to both online learning and distance learning.

Please note that you will not be able to access the online application form unless you have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh and have full EASE authentication.

Selection Procedure

A Selection Committee will meet in late June 2014 to select the scholarship holders. The winners of the scholarships will be announced by the end of June 2014.

Philimon Badagawa is a multimedia journalist with skills in news gathering, packaging, editing and online publishing. He has knowledge in data visualization, can design and manage websites. He previously worked as a journalist with Observer media and authored several articles and stories. He does research, video & audio recording, editing and production for online publication. He Participated in The New Dawn photography campaign aimed at rebranding Northern Uganda-USAID/NUTI Project (2010). Philimon is in love with photography, writing, reading, sharing new ideas and interacting with reasonable people for skills development.
