JOB DETAILS:

This position is responsible for the Children of Grace (CoG) – Uganda programs preparations, delivery, monitoring and evaluation and reporting. It is located in Jinja, Uganda. .

Job Responsibilities:
Deliver Health care services to CoG sponsored children (40%)
• At the heart of their job is screening and treating children at the clinic.
• coordinating access to specialized medical care for students as necessary.
• Conducting Mobile Clinics in the villages and schools where children attend.
• Annual health screening for all sponsored students at the beginning of the year.
• Conduct students’ health talks in schools.
• Maintaining treatment records for each student, monitoring overall progress and submitting formal reports to the supervisor on all cases they are dealing with.
• Lead the planning and delivery of community Health Programs outreaches (35%)
• Conduct community needs assessments into health and social needs in the target villages. and mapped out required health services for marginalized and vulnerable children.
• Plan and deliver community health outreaches to rural villages in collaboration with other health care providers and local health centres.
• Conduct follow-ups in the communities for treated children and lead health education. efforts through the community ambassadors working closely with programs coordinator.
Health Programs Logistics and supply management (10%)
• Drawing work plans and budgets for the clinic and mobile health outreaches and budgets.
• Responsible for planning for the needed products and equipment within the CoG clinic and community outreaches through keeping an up to date inventory and drugs stock cards
• Track all the drugs dispensed and keep an up to date drugs stock cards and share a report with the supervisor on drugs dispensed each month.
• Identifying and doing all the ground work required to conduct health outreaches.
• Managing the medical inventory through keeping daily health cards and taking stock of drugs and other materials through the database.
• Supervising health program volunteers during mobile clinics.
• Liaison with other health service providers (10%)
Working closely with the Operations Manager;
• Identify and map other health care providers working in our areas of operation and create partnerships that will complement the work we are doing through organizing joint health outreaches and sharing information and referring cases to them.
• Build partnerships with local health Centres and other specialized partners to jointly deliver community health programs.
Other responsibilities (5%)
• Other duties as required, including occasional work on weekends and public holidays for which time off in lieu can be taken in consultation with the Director of Operations.

• Superior writing and oral communication skills.
• Significant experience in the medical field especially treating children and conducting community outreach programs.
• Excellent computer and typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point.
• Ability to analyze problems and make sound operational decisions.
• Excellent organizational skills and methodological approach to program management.
• Attention to detail and strong project management skills.
• Ability to follow through on tasks with minimal supervision.
• Ability to be a team player and leader.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.

Job Education Requirements:
• Essential: Qualified Nurse.
• At least 3 -year experience coordinating health care services in a busy setting preferably an NGO
