The Guild President of Islamic University in Uganda Muhamud Ali Muhamud Abdulle has called upon his Cabinet to serve with diligence and great commitment if they are to fulfill the promises they made to the students while campaigning.
He was delivering his first speech as the Guild president after being sworn in at a function held at the university’s main campus in Mbale.
“I stand here before you, grateful for the trust you’ve bestowed upon me and my team. As your Guild President, with your cooperation I commit myself to fulfilling all I promised …..” Muhamud siad.
The Guild president said that the success of the 2019-2020 regime will be a collective effort of both the students and the administration.
“The best leader is the one who listens and learns and for this I welcome new ideas from any one regardless of status for as long as it is for the betterment of our University” he stated.
He takes over from Mohamad Noor whom he thanked for his service.
During the same function, outstanding leaders for the 2018-2019 Guild leadership were awarded.
“IUIU Administration is always supportive to students matters so all you need is to focus on working with your ministers as a team and surely nothing will go wrong” the outgoing Guild President advised.
The Vice Rector in charge of Academic Affairs Professor Ismael Simbwa Gyagenda who represented the Rector as the guest of honor appreciated the former guild leadership for the great work done during their term in office. He pledged administrative support towards the activities of the student’s Union.
