Job Summary: True North Consult Ltd is supporting Greenhill Holdings to recruit a Group Chief Finance Officer who will be responsible for the proper management of and reporting on the financial resources of the Greenhill Holdings Group of companies, to achieve cost-efficient use of the financial resources and maximum return on investments.
The Head of Finance is responsible for the proper management of and reporting on the financial resources of the Greenhill Holdings Group of companies, to achieve cost-efficient use of the financial resources, maximum return on investments and compliance to applicable laws and regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategy and Policy Formulation and Implementation
- With other members of the executive team develops and implements the strategic plans for the Group.
- Oversees the development and execution of a comprehensive and effective financial strategy to achieve the Group’s objectives and design initiatives to operationalize it.
- Provides support across the group, providing appropriate financial information for timely decision-making in line with overall Group strategy.
- Provides management information of a financial nature and its interpretation for effective decision making to maximize returns on business
- Develops, reviews, updates and disseminates finance and procurement policies and processes that govern the group’s operations, ensuring compliance to the laws and adopting emerging best practices

Finance Planning and Budgeting
- Initiates and co-ordinates the formulation of business plans and annual budgets, and monitors progress towards their achievement
- Oversees the timely provision of management accounts and working with budget holders recommends corrective actions where necessary
- Engages Management and the appropriate Board Committees to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections for the Group.
- Develops financial models and carries out financial analysis to provide a basis for investment decisions and business planning
Cash and Debt Management
- Prepares cash flow forecasts and manages the cash flows
- Ensures appropriate investment policies and ensure reasonable yield on short-term investments
- In close consultation with Finance Directors, source financing from commercial banks and other financiers ensuring that the terms are in the best interest of the Company.
- Ensure systems are in place to safeguard cash and minimize bad debt.
Finance Operations
- Develops and implements a sound accounting framework in compliance with statutory provisions
- Ensures proper maintenance of the Books of Accounts
- Ensures that the annual financial statements and statutory reports are timely, accurate and in accordance with international financial standards and regulations
- Ensures statutory obligations are met in an efficient and effective manner
- Monitors and controls income and expenditure to ensure financial efficiency and effectiveness
- Drives a cost-saving culture across all areas of the group
- Design, implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity and reliability of the accounting and financial systems.
- Ensures the timely resolution of issues/ challenges that affect the financial systems
- In liaison with the accounting system provider, ensure efficiency in the maintenance of the books of accounts
- Ensure adherence to the finance manuals as updated from time to time
Procurement management
- Provide technical advice on key negotiations of major contracts for supply of goods and services
- Design and implement systems to ensure value for money in procurement
- Ensure that goods and services are procured in a timely manner
- Ensure adherence to the procurement manuals as updated from time to time
Stakeholder and External Relations
- Liaises with external and internal auditors; and ensures the annual and/or periodic audits are carried out seamlessly
- Develops and manages key relationships with relevant external organizations e.g. URA, auditors, banks to facilitate effective operations
People Management
- Oversees the activities of all units within the Finance Team
- Supervise the staff ensuring the performance, development and growth of personnel in the department
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, financial management or related discipline from a reputable institution
- Relevant professional certifications & membership professional associations ACCA. CPA
- At least eight years of experience with a Minimum of four years of management experience
- MBA in Finance reputable institution
- Excellent leadership
- In-depth knowledge of applicable regulations and IFRS
