The Government has warned all Kyambogo university staff who will not report for work on Monday that they will be dismissed.
Kyambogo University staff members went on strike protesting the return of Vice Chancellor, Prof Isaiah Ndiege last month after court ordered the university council to re-authorise him to carry out duties as Vice Chancellor.
Since then lecturers and other staff have not been working and vowed never to return to work unless Prof. Ndiege is out of Kyambogo university.
The contract of Prof. Ndiege ends early next year.
“In any organisation if you take long to carry out restructuring, some people grow wings. Please we’re calling upon the government to do the needful. Kyambogo university is ful of people with alot of egoism. I believe restructuring will lead to alasting solution,” a concerned student says.
The situation on Monday will thus not only determine the fate of lecturers, but also brighten the future of the students of Kyambogo University.
