Garrisa Solidarity March : Kenyan Commissioner demands no sympathy to terrorists

Makerere University students have successfully marched to the Kenyan High Commission to show Solidarity towards the stand against Al-Shabaab after the killing of 148 students at Garrisa.

The students were led by their Guild President, Bala David Bwiruka who on presenting Makerere university’s message reminded Ugandans that an attack on students in Kenya is a direct attack on all students on the African continent.

Julius Ngera,  the Assistant Commissioner at the Kenyan Embassy stood in for his senior. In a moody tone,  he thanked the students for showing support and promised to deliver the message to the concerned.

He however has no kind words to terrorism.  “Let’s show no sympathy to terrorists,  let’s treat terrorists as terrorists, ” Ngera cautioned.

He expressed dissatisfaction towards the manner in which terrorists are handled. “Some of them are our brothers and sisters, ” he added.

Students turned out in large numbers and where throughout out the journey escorted by Uganda Police.

By press time,  the students were gathered in the main hall waiting for an address from the IGP,  Gen Kale Kayihura.
