The Confucius Institute of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart is now accepting applications for Hanban Scholarship Program for the academic year 2018-19 to study in the People’s Republic of China. Non-Chinese students are eligible to apply.

The Confucius Institute of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart was founded in 2009 by the collaboration between the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) and Confucius Institute Headquarters / Hanban (the Office for the diffusion of Chinese abroad, connected with the Beijing Ministry of Education). The Confucius Institute promotes the knowledge of Chinese language and culture as well as in universities also in the largest local community.

Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

• Short Language Program
• Scholarship of Chinese Medicine, Taijiquan
• Chinese Language scholarship with accommodation in a Chinese family
• Scholarship Award: Study Scholars include:
• University fees
• Accommodation in a double room inside a university student or a housing grant of about 700 RMB per month;
• Multi-risk insurance for foreign students in China. We recommend an additional policy.
• Monthly grant provided by the host university for (grant not granted for grants 5)
  • 2,500 RMB for scholarships nr. 2, nr. 3 and nr. 4
  • RMB 3,000 for scholarships n. 1

Scholarships do not cover:

• Travel expenses/visa
• Accommodation other than basic accommodation on campus

3. Language Program of an academic year

• Maximum duration: 11 months – only starting from 1/9/2018

Scholarship: Teaching Chinese to Foreigners (TCSOL: Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages)

• Requirements:
• HSK 3 (vote min 270)
• HSKK

Scholarship: Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese History and Chinese Philosophy

5. Short Language Program

• Reserved for groups of students (between 10 and 15) of the Confucius Institute of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart
• The fellows will follow Chinese language courses and will experience life within a Chinese family

Scholarship for students of the Confucius Institute and Confucius Halls

Reserved for groups of students (between 10 and 15) of the Confucius Institute of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.
