Job Title:    Teller (Fresher Jobs)

Job Summary:  The Bank Teller will provide cordial consistent, high quality service to all our customers whilst maintaining a high level on integrity and complying with the routine controls.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  1. Customer Service:
  • Adhere to the service standards and provide excellent customer service
  • Handle all cash and cheque deposits from customers and ATMs in line with set procedures
  • Pay out cash to customers by cheque or voucher withdrawal in line with set procedures
  • Process all Foreign exchange transactions for both walk in and existing customers and report all transactions above set amount to the Team Leader Tellers
  • Carry out biller payments and cash transfers as per set procedures
  • Perform change transactions
  • Provide account balances to customers as requested as per laid down procedures
  • Manage queues by providing quick, accurate and efficient service
  • Provide excellent customer service by adhering to the Service Standards
  • Guide customers of any new price changes
  • Capture accurate narratives for all transactions processed
  1. Sales:
  • Generate and provide leads to sales staff
  • Cross sell bank products
  • Identify customers for migration to other service channels
  1. Risk and Control:
  • Refer all cash transactions above Teller limit to the Team Leader Tellers for verification and/or approval
  • Carry out at least two till balances for all currencies on a daily basis
  • Keep own cash holdings within prescribed limits
  • Adhere to all laid down policies and procedures regarding security of Bank assets i.e. user password security, security cards, keys, own till, stamps, vouchers, and all other Teller working tools
  • Print and handover Teller reports and vouchers for calling to the Team Leader at the end of day
  • File all Teller reports on daily basis
  • Perform all Inter-Teller cash transfers as per laid down procedures
  • Quickly report all suspicious transactions in accordance with laid down procedure
  • Attend to audit and risk findings
  1. Other:
  • Perform ATM custodianship as may be assigned from time to time
  • Hold front door keys as assigned from time to time
  • Perform any other duties by the Line manager

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  

  • The ideal candidates for the Stanbic Teller Jobs should hold Bachelor’s degrees from recognized university
  • Previous experience with cash handling is desirable
  • Previous front office experience desirable
  • Working knowledge of cash handling policies and procedures
  • Sound knowledge of legal aspects regarding cheque, bills and cash handling
  • Sound knowledge of bank products/services and related procedures
  • Working knowledge of Service standards
  • Working knowledge of the Core banking system
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Good organization skills
  • Basic computer skills
