The deceased is identified as Belinda Birungi, a fresh UCU graduate who was killed on Friday night by a speeding Lorry.
It was a few minutes after 8 pm Friday night that a speeding lorry driver rammed into State Minister Sam Mayanja’s 22-year-old daughter, killing her instantly. This happened along Stretcher Road in Ntinda where Belinda Birungi, one of the Minister’s older children, was travelling on a Boda-Boda.
Eyewitnesses say that the trailer failed to climb the Stretcher hill, reversing and ramming into Birungi.
This accident scene isn’t very far from the Minister’s Ntinda Village residence where the daughter was staying too having graduated recently with her first degree from Uganda Christian University Mukono.
She had just found a job and was barely three months into it. Belinda Birungi previously studied at Seeta High School whereafter she joined UCU.
