Lwankuba Farm is a Robusta coffee growing farm established in 2010 currently occupying 76 acres, located on approximately 14 kilometers north of Myanzi on the way to Kasanda, Mubende District within Central Uganda. The farm’s vision is being an international center of excellence in sustainable and value chains agricultural production, with a mission of combined agriculture with local farmers geared towards quality improvements and value additions.
The farm’s core objectives are to; a) Production of quality Robusta coffee and value addition b)Supporting local farmers with modern farming methods, value addition and access to better markets and c) Promotion of agricultural research, innovation and training.
Job Summary: The farm is desirous of expanding its activities and seeks to recruit qualified, experienced growth-minded Farm Manager who is committed, knowledgeable, innovative and ready to drive the farm forward in increasing its production output.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight and planning to the farm
- Implementation of the farm’s business plan
- Supervise the entire coffee value chains in a timely and efficient manner
- Initiating and maintaining relations with strategic coffee farmers, buyers and other stakeholders
- Provide a supervisory role to farm staff
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Degree in Agriculture with emphasis on crop husbandry
- Four years of experience in management position of a business farm
- Demonstrated experience in managing coffee growing, processing and coffee market value chain
- A proven record in working with out-growers preferably coffee
- Strong organizational skills in; planning, personnel management, budgeting and supervisory skills
- Good knowledge on proposal development
- Excellent computer skills most especially in Ms. Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft word and Internet usage.
- Fluency in spoken Luganda is an extra advantage
