As the graduation mood changes around campus, Islamic university in Uganda (IUIU) is yet to hold their 25th graduation ceremony that is due to happen this Saturday 11th November at main campus Mbale and more excitements are expected ahead of this day.
The acting academic registrar of Islamic University in Uganda Dr. Halima Wakabi Akbar said there more activities under way for this coming graduation.
“Banners have been put up in different parts and at roundabouts in Mbale town to inform the public about this upcoming ceremony and adverts, news bulletins in different media have run and published to create awareness of the event”. Said the academic registrar
Dr. Halima also said they are expecting to graduate approximately over 2331 students across the seven faculties and that the graduands and staff are picking their gowns and invitation letters for the graduation.
She stressed that the office of the academic registrar has put in place and facilitated a graduation committee to make more statistics and preparation to see the smooth running of the graduation ceremony.
The academic registrar assured the continuing students and the general public that there will be a live coverage on their Television sets to watch and on IUIU FM radio to listen in while at their homes and that a big screen will be put for the student at the lower premises at campus to allow them follow the ceremony live.
However Dr. Halima appealed to the granduands, parents and all invited guests to attend the ceremony saying it is aimed at celebrating the success of the students and appreciating parents for working tirelessly to pay fees and the support of their children.
