European Master Fellowships for International Students in Netherlands, 2016

Applications are invited for European Master Fellowships to pursue MSc in Food Technology at Wageningen University as well as to the specialization European Master in Food Studies. Each year one full fellowship is available for a student originating from Africa and the region between Sahara and Rep. of South Africa. This fellowship is covering the costs of studying and living for the two years. The fellowship is only available for students who have received an admission letter for the MSc European Master in Food Studies starting 2016. The application deadline is 15 April 2016.

Eligibility: Eligible candidates fulfill the following criteria (all criteria should be met):
-Admitted to the MSc Food Technology at Wageningen University as well as to the specialisation European Master in Food Studies (other study programmes or specialisations do not qualify)
-Nationality / citizenship from outside the European Union and European Economic Space, Surinam and the Netherlands Antilles, not having a permanent residence permit in any of the above regions
-A GPA of at least 75 (75% of maximum scale) in their BSc degree
-Below the age of 30 when starting the European Master programme

Scholarship Open for International Students: International students (Nationality / citizenship from outside the European Union and European Economic Space, Surinam and the Netherlands Antilles, not having a permanent residence permit in any of the above regions) can apply for this scholarship programme.

Scholarship Description: The European Master in Food Studies aims to increase the scientific, research and personal skills of the participants, and to enhance their awareness of the international dimensions of the global food industry. Students will graduate with a good awareness of the technological, social, economical and political developments in Europe’s most important industrial sector. The European Master in Food Studies is a two year MSc programme, accredited by the Dutch Ministry of Education. The diploma is worldwide recognized when applying for jobs. The board of the Foundation European Master Food has decided to allocate a budget for fellowships.

Number of award(s): There is one full fellowship available for students entering the 2016-2017 programme.

Duration of award(s): Fellowships will be awarded for two years (one edition), with an evaluation after the Massy, France stay during the first year. Fellowships will be paid annually at the beginning of the academic year.

What does it cover? The fellowship is covering the costs of studying and living for the two years.

Selection Criteria: The fellowships will only be awarded to students who can demonstrate that they have not already obtained a full fellowship for the duration of the programme and who can demonstrate that they can not raise sufficient funding independently.

Notification: The decision will be made within two weeks after the HSP and NFP fellowships have been awarded. These fellowships are Dutch National Fellowships and candidates obtaining one of those fellowships will be excluded from the European Masters Fellowships. The NFP/HSP fellowships will be awarded generally at the end of April each year (no fixed date).

How to Apply: Candidates who have received an admission confirmation for the European Master study programme, can submit a fellowship application by e-mail to the programme coordinator.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The application deadline is 15 April 2016.
