Europa League Round up: Napoli, Sevilla, Fiorentina and Dnipro through to the semi-finals

Europa League quarterfinals 2nd leg ties were on Thursday with Napoli and Sevilla the peak of the night.

Zenit St. Petersburg hosted Sevilla in an entertaining match which ended in a 2-2 draw, sending the Europa League holders through with a 4-3 series win on aggregate.Zenit’s goals were scored by Jose Rondon and Brazilian international striker Hulk.Carlos Bacca and Kevin Gameiro scored for Sevilla

Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens scored for Napoli

Italian side Napoli hosted high flying German side Wolfsburg which also ended in a 2-2 draw. Dires Mertens and José Callejón both scored for host Napoli before the Bundesliga side responded with goals from Timm Klose and Ivan Perisic in the 71st and 73rd minutes. Rafa Benitez’s Napoli squad went through to next round, 6-3, on aggregate.

Meanwhile Fiorentina also went through to the semifinals, 3-1, on aggregate after they won their home tie 2-0 over Dynamo Kiev. Germany international strikers Mario Gomez and Manuel Vargas were on target  for Florence side.

In the other game, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk beat Club Brugge, 1-0, after Evgeniy Shakhov scored the only goal of the game in the 82nd minute. Dnipro reached its first   Europa League semifinals.

The draw of the semifinals of the Europa League will be held today with that of the Uefa Champions League.
