Either global warming or global cooling as others may prefer to call it , the impact is simply immense and adverse.
Last week, I was at Baton Rouge and I did not want to move out of the house because of the extreme cold. On landing at Entebbe airport on Saturday, I am immediately harassed by the extreme heat.
This exactly brings me to the point that protecting our environment is totally our responsibility.
We have resolutely decided to clear all the trees, drain all the swamps around us in order to construct houses, car bonds and the likes.
A case in point are the Kyambogo swamps where we currently have the car bonds, the Bugolobi area where there are currently National Housing estates. Not forgetting the Namanve Forests that were allocated for industrialization yet instead people constructed some residences.
To worsen matters we have NEMA and Ministries in charge of environmental protection and in these cases the law does not apply and if they apply, they do so exclusively.
We can choose to sit back and look on as we complain that God has punished us by not sending us rain or we can take action. The choice is entirely mine.
