Enlightenment Scholarships for International Students at University of Edinburgh in UK, 2018

The University of Edinburgh will offer up to 30 Enlightenment Scholarships for students starting their PhD research at the University in the 2018-2019 academic session.

The University of Edinburgh, founded in 1582, is the sixth oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland’s ancient universities.

Candidates are required to have good English Language skills with scholarship applicants normally requiring a minimum IELTS of 7.0 (with a minimum of 6.5 in each section) achieved within the past two years.

Scholarship Description:

Application deadline: February 1, 2018
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD research programme.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.
Scholarship Award: Each Enlightenment Scholarship will cover full tuition fees, a living cost award, equivalent to the current UK research council rates and subject to satisfactory progress the scholarship are awarded for up to 4 years for full-time PhD study, pro-rata for part-time study.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

Eligible Countries: Scholarships are available for UK, EU and overseas students.
Entrance Requirements: The awards are open to UK, EU and overseas students applying to an eligible PhD programme commencing their research degree in the between August 2018 and December 2018 of the 2018-2019 academic session.
English Language Requirements: Candidates are required to have good English Language skills with scholarship applicants normally requiring a minimum IELTS of 7.0 (with a minimum of 6.5 in each section) achieved within the past two years.  Please check the Entry Requirements for your proposed programme of study for details of other acceptable English language qualifications.  The requirement for an IELTS score of 7.0 (or equivalent) may be higher than the level required for admissions purposes.

Application Procedure:

For both tracks, student selection and admission processes will include an appraisal of a personal statement and the applicant’s suitability for their proposed career development routes.
