Eloba Simeon declared Mbarara University of Science & Technology Guild President 2015/2016

Eloba Simeon, Mbarara University Guild President 2015 2016.

Eloba Simeon was declared the new Guild President of Mbarara university of Science & Technology (MUST) on Friday 17th April 2015.

He got 789 votes (33.8%) beating four other candidates to emerge victorious;

  • Believe Ampurire 551 (23.6%)
  • Everett Lwamulungi 541 (23.2%)
  • Mathius Ssenyondo 365 (15.6%)

Eloba Simeon is a 4th year student studying a degree course in Medicine.

According to the Chairperson electoral commission, Rugamba Blaise, this year’s (2015) guild elections registered the highest voter turn up in the history of MUST.

He says the elections were free, fair and transparent because the voting registers tallied with the number of votes.

Three of the four candidates were from the same faculty of medicine and interestingly in the same year of study.

From the Faculty of Medicine, Believe got 10 votes, Everett had 304, Mathius got 70 while  Simeon gained the highest number from this faculty; 295 votes.

He previously worked as a journalist with Observer media and authored several articles and stories. He does research, video & audio recording, editing and production for online publication. He Participated in The New Dawn photography campaign aimed at rebranding Northern Uganda-USAID/NUTI Project (2010). Philimon is in love with photography, writing, reading, sharing new ideas and interacting with reasonable people for skills development.
