Don’t go for prostitution- Nkumba University Vice Chancellor warns students

The Vice Chancellor of Nkumba university Prof. Hannington Ssengendo has urged students never to engage themselves in prostitution by trying to sell their bodies in exchange for money for upkeep.

Prof. Hannington Ssengendo sounded the caution during the first general assembly held in the main hall at Nkumba university on Friday 22, August 2014.

Prof. Ssengendo said students should utilize the opportunity they have at university and concentrate on their studies.

He added that peer pressure groups can lead to acts like alcoholism, smoking, drug addiction which can result into poor academic performance.

“Make sure you get good friends who can help with necessary assistance you may need other than moving in peer groups with bad behaviors.” Said Prof. Ssengendo said.

He advised university students to always observe the 4Cs of Nkumba university as the principle guidelines throughout their academic life and life after university.

The 4Cs include: Confidence, competence, creativity and character.
