Recovery of bad/written off loans extended in accordance with Pride’s policies and procedures and the
laws of Uganda.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Recovery of bad/written off loans.
• Survey and investigate clients’ files for cases of defaulting.
• Prepare and deliver demand letters to defaulters and follow up on payments.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Train staff on debt recovery skills.
2 Liaise with law enforcement on recovery.
• Peruse clients’ files to establish type and location of security.
• Visit locations to establish the availability of property for attachment.
• Contact law enforcement for purposes of attachment.
• Place and distribute notices of sale.
• Identify highest bidder and negotiate terms for the sale of attached assets.
• Arrange with the respective branch for consent to sale and requisition of sale agreement.
3 Facilitate the prosecution of loan defaulters.
• Investigate cases of defaulting.
• Gather information on clients from the Credit Department.
• Report matters of criminal nature to police.
• Organize potential witnesses to make statements.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1 Percentage of recovery of bad/written off loans.
2 Percentage of staff trained in loan recovery.
3 Timely and accurate production and delivery of recall letters and monthly updates, and follow up.
4 Successful sale of securities
JOB SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
• A diploma in law.
• A Post graduate diploma is an added advantage.
Experience
At least 1 year experience in debt collection or law enforcement.
Competency
• Knowledge of Laws of Uganda
• Communication skills
• Business acumen
• People management skills
• Result oriented
• Report writing skills
