Innovations are the way to go. If you only thought Makerere students are the only innovators, Bayiga Francis Barya is here to prove you wrong.
Just like other creative innovators, Bayiga believes the competitive environment at Datamine Technical Business School enabled him to come up with such an idea.
Students engage in a talent show where they exhibit their potentials. Bayiga got a chance to expose the talent he had harbored for close to 8 months.
“I wanted to come up with something relevant to the situation, the election process at Datamine was always hectic,” Bayiga says.
Bayiga believes the system will help rule out vote malpractice and the tussle of queuing up in long lines.
“People spend a lot of time at polling stations, the system will eliminate such challenges,” he adds.
How the E-Voting system works
Bayiga’s system only operates at Datamine where he hopes to fix the glitches that may surface and later introduce it at the national level.
