Job Title: Data Administrator
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral and independent international humanitarian organisation, which assists and protects victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence.
Job Summary: The Data Administrator is responsible for the good management of individual (personal) data resulting from the activities of the Tracing and Protection department in favour of persons deprived of freedom, persons separated from their families, missing persons and their families, as well as activities in favour of the civilian population.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Protection Activities:
- Inputs data, verifies procedures and analyses Protection data in an ICRC customized database.
- Ensures compliance with procedures and quality of the data management related to Protection and Tracing activities
- Ensures follow-up and updates of files or databases
- In charge of troubleshooting, upgrading and backing up customized data management systems
- Produces relevant reports, working lists and reminders to ensure follow-up of individual cases by the Protection team
- Actively participates in establishing & implementing procedures for Data base management
- Trains Protection staff in data entry procedures and new systems
- Receives clients (ICRC targeted beneficiaries) and handles their cases in coordination with relevant colleagues
- Translates (upon requests) in individual interviews/debriefings
- Responsible for receiving, checking and dispatching of Red Cross messages in coordination with the Uganda Red Cross Society and other ICRC delegations in the region
- Maintains and updates statistics related to material assistance delivered to beneficiaries by the Protection teams and generates relevant reports.
- Carries out general secretarial duties independently
- Carries out daily monitoring of newspapers on issues related to Protection activities
- Ensures mail management & efficient information flow within the department
- Monitors the Restoring Family Links (RFL) budget of activities carried out jointly with Uganda Red Cross Society
- Occasionally participates in Tracing activities in support to the Tracing team
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Data Administrator vacancy should possess a good University degree in Information technology or Degree in the Humanities with experience or training in Data management systems.
- Three or more years’ work experience in similar field, preferably in an international organization
- The jobholder should have a solid data management background combined with a strong interest in humanitarian work.
- The ideal candidate combines a passion for data management and analysis, enjoys teamwork and has an interest and capacity to interact with people in need of assistance and protection
- Past exposure and experience with data management, analysis and troubleshooting
- Good working knowledge of SQL language, Query Builder and Report Builder is an asset
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, French an asset.
- Possess a Valid driving license is an asset.
- Highly proficient communication and interpersonal skills
- Sense of responsibility and ability to take initiative and to work independently
- Excellent planning, organizational and assessment skills
- High respect for confidentiality
- Ability to work in a diverse, multicultural environment.
