Convocation awards Mbarara university pioneer Vice Chancellor Prof. Kayanja

Mbarara university’s pioneer Vice Chancellor, Prof. Frederick Ian Bantubano Kayanja (R).

The Convocation of Mbarara university of science and Technology (MUST) on Friday 2nd October 2015 recognized the university’s pioneer administrators for their dedicated service to the university.

The recognized administrators included the university’s pioneer Vice Chancellor, Prof. Frederick Ian Bantubano Kayanja;

  • The pioneer Academic Registrar, Mr. Stephen Bazirake;
  • The pioneer University Secretary, Dr. Charles Kyanda Kibirige
  • The pioneer student’s custodian, Mr. Ham Tumwine.

The convocation ceremony held at the Kihumuro Campus was presided over by MUST Vice Chancellor, Prof. Celestino Obua.

The four administrators served Mbarara university of science and Technology from its inception in October 1989.

These pioneer administrators retired from MUST in 2014.

During the function, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Obua announced that the university was in the final stages of

Prof. Kayanja’s bust that was unveiled by the students’ guild.

launching the Kayanja Fellowship; a Post graduate Scholarship award for the Masters of Medicine study at the university.

The Student’s Guild also unveiled Prof. Kayanja’s bust in  the grounds at the front of the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology.
