Chelsea to let Zappacosta join Roma on loan

Chelsea have reportedly agreed to let defender Davide Zappacosta join Roma on loan.

Zappacosta has had no gaming time at the Bridge since his arrival under Antonio Conte and has opted to move back to Italy.

According to the Daily Mail, Lampard will let Zappacosta go on loan having discovered that youngster Reece James is recovering from injury.

Reece James will be the second to Cesar Azpilicueta ahead of Zappacosta when he returns from injury,James spent last season on loan at Wigan Athletic where he suffered an ankle, had ankle surgery in the summer but should be fit in the next few weeks.

He had attracted several interests from various clubs like West Ham, Crystal Palace and Brighton but Chelsea turned down all the offers.

Mason Mount is another younger that has been in the starting line-up for the Blues under Frank Lampard. The younger star scored his goal against Leicester City on Sunday.
