Chelsea oncourse to winning title,Everton stun Manchester United

Premier League leaders Chelsea played out a 0-0 draw in their London derby against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon putting them closer to the Tittle.

Jose Mourinho’s side remains ten points ahead of the Gunners and Manchester City after producing a good defensive display in the top of the table clash. Arsenal enjoyed most of the possession in the first half, but struggled to create many clear-cut openings.

Chelsea had three penalty appeals turned down in the first half, and Arsenal one but the visitors are grateful for the draw.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina was lucky not to concede penalty after he fouled Chelsea midfielder Oscar early on.

Chelsea could have killed off the game though Ramires spurned close range opportunity.

Arsene Wenger’s side had a lot of the ball creating good moves but they found it difficult to break down the Chelsea defence patrolled by their skipper John Terry.

This result meant manager Arsene Wenger is still winless against Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho in their 13th meeting according to BBC Sport. Mike Oliver was the referee of the game though there still remain some questionable decisions which he made in the game.

It was affair result for both Teams as the Premier League is in the closing stages of the season.

Arsenal remained third on the League table, below Manchester City on goal difference and two points above Manchester United but  with a game in hand on both.

Meanwhile Everton beat Manchester United 3-0 to dent their visitors’ hopes of direct entry into the Champions League in the early kickoff.

This was Louis van Gaal’s second consecutive league defeat after the previous weekend he lost 1-0 to Chelsea.

Everton got its goals from James McCarthy, John Stones and Kevin Mirallas as they rose into 10th place.

Manchester United are vying to finish in the top three in Premier League to avoid the prospect of playing a qualifying round which is played by the fourth Team

Only the top three teams in the Premier League  go straight into the first round of the Champions League.

United are not yet certain of fourth place, as they lead Liverpool by seven points having played a game more than their bitter rivals.
