Call for applications for 36 Internship opportunities at UMA-HEST

INTERNSHIP VACANCIES: Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Sports with support from African Development Bank (AfDB) was mandated to run an internship programme under the Higher Education, Science and Technology (HEST) Project mainly for Science and Technology final year students.

The purpose of the programme is to enable the students acquire relevant practical skills through rigorous industrial practice and supervision by industry technical experts.

The selected students are expected to be with the companies for 2-6 months internship.

The programme targets final year degree students from the following faculties:

  • Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Sciences
  • Faculty of Engineering
  • Faculty of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences

The selection criteria shall be merit based.

Applications addressed to the Academic Registrar, Busitema University are therefore invited from interested final year students who wish to do their industrial training under the UMA-HEST Internship Programme in the following disciplines:

  • Mechanical Engineering 2
  • Computer Engineering 4
  • Industrial Engineering 6
  • Laboratory Testing
  • Industrial Chemistry 2
  • IT Soft Ware and Hardware 4
  • Environment 4
  • Water Engineering 4
  • Agricultural Mechanization 3
  • Animal Production 7

The application must highlight the Student Registration Number, Programme of Study and first Semester CGPA for Academic Year 2014/2015.

The closing date for submission of applications to the office of the Academic Registrar, Busitema University is 5th June 2015.
