Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) hosted the top leadership of the Uganda Police Force on 2nd August 2018 in a bid to institutionalize forensic sciences training.
The team was led by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Brigadier Sabiiti Muzeyi. He was accompanied by the Directors of; forensics, human resource and planning, research, finance, legal and human rights issues and the secretariat of the forensics unit.
The visit is an important step in creating a road map and operationalisation of Forensic Sciences Institute at MUST.
The Deputy IGP illustrated to the participants a new concept of DTG that refers to Date, Time and Group which will enable timely achievement of the set targets.
At the end of the meeting, an action plan was developed and the team visited and appreciated the different laboratories at MUST among which were; pharmacy, pathology, clinical research science and epicentre.
