Bobi Wine fails to appear in court, case adjourned

Opposition politician turned Member of Parliament for Kyadondo East Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu has today not appeared in Buganda Road Magistrate Court.

Kyagulanyi and other four are accused of disobeying the statutory order when they held a demonstration last year over Mobile Money tax.

However, his fellow comrades Mr David Lule alias Selector Davie, Mr Julius Katongole, Mr Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu and Mr Edward Sebuufu were present in court.

Mr Asuman Basalirwa who is Bobi Wine’s lawyer told Buganda Road Magistrate’s Court on Thursday that Mr Kyagulanyi was unable to appear in person because he is out of the country on official duties.

According to Basalirwa, Mr Patrick Nsamba Oshabe who is the area Member of Parliament for Kasanda South was present as a surety for Mr Kyagulanyi.

Ms Barbara Kyomugisha, a state prosecutor asked court to issue criinal summons to Mr Kyagulanyi. The court was presided over by Ms Esther Nahilya.

Ms Nahilya extended the bail of all suspects until July 10 for further hearing.
