Addressing a media brief on Friday at the university headquarters in Kampala, the new Vice Chancellor Dr. Olive Sabiti explained that Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu has been a student at Cavendish University and has exhibited potential for academic excellence in the law course, the Bachelor of Laws.
“Kyagulanyi has been a good student throughout the study period because I taught him myself before being promoted to the position of a Vice Chancellor. Because of his entertainment background, he was so interesting and social to his fellow colleagues in class, therefore, if he had not been examined and certified by the university, there is no way he would have been part of the graduates of class 2024,” she said.
Due to public demand, the university has also unveiled three new courses on board, such as the Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, the Diploma in Data Science and Analytics and the advanced Diploma in Health Leadership and Management, added Sabiti.

He however, included that the scholarships are a response to keeping the students’ need at the center of what Cavendish University does. At the moment, about 200 scholarships are on board and available, Mutabanura said.
Some of these scholarships are for example responding to the needs of the refugees in Uganda like that of the Gen. Riek Machar for Sudanese, the Benjamin Mkapa scholarship and others.
