Bank of Uganda has committed itself to support the Makerere University centennial celebrations with a pledge of 100 million.
Mr. Michael Atingi-Ego, the deputy governor bank of Uganda and alumnus of Makerere University made the pledge during a meeting with Professor Barnabas Nawangwe, the institution’s vice-chancellor.
The meeting between the two parties held at the Bank of Uganda on July 28th, 2022 aimed at discussing the bank’s support to Makerere University.
Bank of Uganda joins the long list of organizations that have already committed themselves to support the Makerere at 100 celebrations.
Makerere University will celebrate 100 years of existence since its establishment in 1922.
These centennial celebrations are slated for October 2022 at Makerere University’s Freedom Square.
Quite a number of organizations have made contributions and donated towards the celebrations, the Bank of Uganda being the latest.
