If a tiger can break a cage, then signs are now manifesting that Makerere University Guild President is about to jump out of his cage to crash down internship related problems affecting students.
Bala David Bwiruka says diplomatic engagements with Makerere University management over delayed delivery of internship allowance to some students are yet to bear fruits.
Writing on his Facebook wall on Wednesday 17th June, he notes on how he has on several occasions engaged the Makerere University management on why some students had not received their internship money only to be told that the system was down.
Each student is meant to get shs. 387,000/= of the 600,000= paid via the 6 semesters (3 years). The balance is allocated to supervisor.
The affected include some second year and some third year students. Its now two weeks eve since Makerere University students reported at their internship placements.
Sounding furious, Bala wrote, “I have issued an ultimatum to management that by 9:00am tomorrow (Thursday 18th June 2015) all accounts of students who have not received internship money should be credited.”
Bala tasked the management to call upon the affected students and issue them money manually assuring of how himself and his cabinet will provide help.
“…failure for management to do so, I rise each and every one of you who has not yet received his/her money to come on Friday at 9am to join us, storm the main building to claim what belongs to us,” he added.
