This could be one of the most profitable Trade Bazaar that Nkumba university guild has ever organized in its life time as in most students have come up with their own stalls hence competing with the outside community where by most students are selling clothes and food.
The most astonishing is that Baganda students under their umbrella Baganda Nkobazamgo students Association (BANKOSA) set up a ‘restaurant’ where they are serving different eats and drinks. The hard working students are also serving full meals for breakfast, lunch and supper with foods like chips, fish, beef among others. They have been doing this for the past bazaars in the university.
Namamonde Deborah the chairperson (Nantebe) of the BANKOSA says that they came up with this resolution of working together in order to increase on the income of the association. “We need to work hard and develop our association because as students this is one of the opportunities we have of making money.” Deborah said. A stall goes for 35,000 to 50,000/= depending on what you are selling
She added that they harvest profits of over 100,000/= every day since the bazaar started on the 11th of thin s month. Deborah also stated that they are considering investing this money in other business like calendar making, pens, hankies and other income generating activities. The money also helps them in organizing their functions like trips and parties even lending among members.
