Uganda Small Scale Industries Association (USSIA) is a registered Membership Organization formed rig in 1979 with a major purpose to enhance the industrial development of Small Scale Industries in the Country right from the grass root level.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- In charge of the maintenance, update and reconciliation of cash book on a daily basis
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of bank reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate analysis and reconciliation of various ledger accounts
- Responsible for timely and accurate processing of payments
- Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year end accounts and ensuring that the correct and relevant audit schedules are provided to auditors on a timely basis
- Support in payment of organizational tax obligations and filing all statutory/ regulatory returns
- Ensure timely preparation and issuance of withholding tax certificates
- Ensuring that all data relating to payments and debtors is accurately captured in the Quick Books system.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidates should preferably hold Diplomas in Accounting/Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting
- Possess the ability to use computerized accounting software, particularly Quick Books
- Professional Accounting Technician Qualification or CPA II
- Two to three years’ experience in a large organization
- Computer literate (Microsoft applications i.e. Word, excel, outlook, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team player
