The Brandon Flock Foundation (BFF) is offering scholarship for acting beginners with a strong desire to take their first steps in front of an audience. Scholarship will be awarded to a new student in the VFS Acting Essentials program.
Acting Essentials is a four month course that introduces the discipline and is tailored to prepare students to enter our full-time Acting for Film & Television. The scholarship covers the full-tuition cost for either domestic or international students. The application deadline is February 15, 2014.

Eligibility: To be eligible for a BFF scholarship, a candidate must:
-Be at least 19 years old or have graduated from high school,
-Be eligible for post-secondary admission in Canada,
-Have signified their intent of pursuing the arts and want to develop their skill and passion in acting,
-A graduating average from secondary school of at least 75% in his/her best six subjects acceptable for post-secondary entrance, including at least two Art-related courses, and
-Be accepted into the Acting Essentials program at VFS.
Scholarship Open for International Students: Domestic and international students can apply for these scholarships.
Scholarship Description: The Brandon Flock Foundation (BFF) promotes the advancement of education, responsible citizenship, people and their natural environment with focus in the arts community, professions, and the voluntary sector. The BFF was established in memory of a great, bright, charitable young person. The Brandon Flock Foundation/VFS Acting Essentials Scholarship will be awarded to a new student in the VFS Acting Essentials program. This is a full-tuition scholarship that covers tuition costs for either domestic or international students.

What does it cover? The scholarship covers the full-tuition cost for Acting Essentials. The scholarship recipient is responsible for all additional costs necessary to complete the program of study (including program supplies, housing, transportation, food and incidentals). If the winner cannot commit to attending VFS for any reason within two weeks of being notified that he or she has been selected to receive a scholarship, another scholarship winner will be chosen.
Selection Criteria: Consideration will be given for individuals who:
-Have demonstrated financial need,
-Are the first generation within their family to attend a post-secondary school, and
-Have attended a post-secondary institution and earned a degree or diploma status prior to applying to VFS.
Notification: All applications will be reviewed and the winner will be announced on or around March 1, 2014.
How to Apply: Applications must be completed and received via mail, email or in-person. For an application to be considered, the applicant must have:
1. Applied to the VFS Acting Essentials program,
2. Completed this scholarship application form in full, and
3. Signed and dated this scholarship application form.
