Apply for RMIT University Academic Merit Scholarship for International Students, 2015

If you are commencing a full-time Bachelor of Engineering degree in the School of Civil, Environment and Chemical Engineering, this scholarship can provide financial assistance in your first year of study.

Worth of Award

The scholarship provides $5000 for one year.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident, international student or humanitarian visa holder
  • have achieved excellent year 12 results with an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) (or equivalent) of 90 or greater
  • demonstrate aptitude to study in the relevant field

be commencing your first year in one of the following civil, environmental or chemical programs full-time in semester 1, 2015:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Infrastructure) (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Infrastructure) (Honours)/Bachelor of Business (Management)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental Engineering) (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Environmental Science/Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental Engineering) (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) (Honours)/Bachelor of Business (Management)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) (Honours)/Bachelor of Science (Biotechnology)
  • Bachelor of Science (Applied Chemistry)/Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Science (Food Technology and Nutrition)/Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) (Honours).

How to Apply

For the 2015 academic year, apply direct to the Coursework Scholarships Office using the online application form (link available below).

  • The main application questions are listed below to allow you to prepare your answers in advance (prior to starting the online application).
  • What are your academic achievements, including any distinctions/awards/prizes received? (maximum 1800 characters)
  • Why do you wish to study in the civil and infrastructure, chemical or environmental engineering fields? (maximum 1800 characters)
  • What are your future plans and aspirations in the engineering industry? (maximum 1800 characters)
  • List the technical/software skills/other qualifications (excluding VCE) that you have.
  • Besides your VCE have you completed any other qualifications?
  • What are you interests outside of school/work?

International Students: International students who do not have an ATAR score must provide a legible copy of your non-Australian results and the explanatory page of what those grades mean (the copy that you provide of your results must list subjects undertaken and grades achieved on official paper/letterhead of the institution). Any document not in English requires a translation to be provided. Any illegible copies will not be reviewed or considered.

You must provide your overseas results by email, scholarship.information@rmit.edu.au, by 12 March 2015:

  • in the subject line of your email put: SCECE Academic Merit Scholarship supporting documentation

in the body of your email include:

  • your name
  • your date of birth
  • the address you provided in the online scholarship application.
