Apply for MasterCard Full Scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate courses at UCT 2015

The MasterCard Foundation has partnered with the University of Cape Town to provide 300 scholarships to academically deserving and economically disadvantaged students from Sub-Saharan Africa.

Through the Scholarship Scholars may pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies at UCT.

Students enrolled in the Program will receive comprehensive scholarships, mentoring, leadership development, and life skills support.

SELECTION CRITERIA AND ELIGIBILITY:

  • Admission for academic study at the University of Cape Town in 2015.
  • Citizenship of and residency in a Sub-Saharan African country.
  • From an economically disadvantaged background.
  • Applicants must demonstrate leadership skills and a commitment to social betterment and giving back to their communities and countries through volunteerism, service learning, social entrepreneurship and more.

How to apply for the Scholarship

In order to apply for The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program, applicants must first apply to the University of Cape Town (UCT) for academic study and placement.

Applicants are advised to carefully read through the guidelines prior to submitting academic or scholarship applications.

The deadline to apply for The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at UCT  for 2015 is 30th September 2014.

Philimon Badagawa is a multimedia journalist with skills in news gathering, packaging, editing and online publishing. He has knowledge in data visualization, can design and manage websites. He previously worked as a journalist with Observer media and authored several articles and stories. He does research, video & audio recording, editing and production for online publication. He Participated in The New Dawn photography campaign aimed at rebranding Northern Uganda-USAID/NUTI Project (2010). Philimon is in love with photography, writing, reading, sharing new ideas and interacting with reasonable people for skills development.
