Job Title: Manager, Business Process Re engineering

Dfcu bank is a fast growing commercial bank offering a variety of innovative products and services. DFCU Limited was started by the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the name of Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited.

Later restructuring brought in DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its objective was to support long-term development projects whose financing needs and risk did not appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending institutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Translate high level business requirements into functional specifications for the organization and manage changes to such specifications in line with business needs.
  • Focus on process analysis and re-engineering, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment.
  • Create process change by integrating new processes with existing ones and communicating these changes to impacted Business Systems teams.
  • Recommend and facilitate quality improvement efforts including Return on processes investments for the bank.
  • Take lead of the re-engineering teams and act as project manager.
  • Analyze business requirements, design, simulate and implement solutions for the most critical customer processes in the bank.
  • Steer the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new business solutions.
  • Responsible for standardization and optimization of existing processes based on the principles of Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Responsible for the development of process management methodology and its implementation in the Bank.
  • Responsible for the analysis of information and data for the evaluation of the company and the quality of services, proposing and implementing improvements.
  • Responsible for maintaining and ensuring consistency of processes within an organization.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The suitable DFCU employee should possess a University degree in Business, or numerical biased degree or ICT.
  • Professional certification in Six Sigma, TQM or other process improvement methodology is a must.
  • Certification in Project Management e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, etc. is an added advantage.
  • Experience
  • At least three years’ work related experience in a multinational enterprise.
  • High proficiency in Information Technology research design tools
  • Highly competent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Ability to lead, supervise and transfer knowledge to teams
  • Interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and communication skills are also necessary in this role.
  • Highly flexible and good team player who is able to work under minimum supervision.
  • Strong analytical power and innovative abilities.
  • Solid practical knowledge of Business Improvement Methodologies and their applications (e.g. Six Sigma Black Belt Certification, Lean, Organizational Change).
  • Proven track record of delivering significant process improvements.
