Apply for Andela Uganda Cohort IV Fellowship Programme, 2017

Applicants are invited for Andela Uganda Cohort IV Fellowship. The fellowship is open for Ugandan students to pursue technical leadership programme.

The aim of this fellowship is to provide full-time employment opportunity that will enable you to own your learning as you hone the skills you need to become a global technology leader.

Andela is a global engineering organization that extends engineering teams with world-class software developers. The company recruits the most talented developers on the African continent, shapes them into technical leaders, and places them as full-time distributed team members with companies that range from Microsoft and IBM to dozens of high-growth start-ups.

Course Level: Fellowship is awarded to become a global technology leader.

Study Subject: Fellowship is awarded in the technical field.

Scholarship Award: This fellowship will cover the following:

  • Through four years of intensive learning and real work experience on the world’s leading engineering teams, you’ll master the professional and technical skills needed to become a global technology leader.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • The highest performing participants are accepted into Andela’s four-year Technical Leadership Program.
  • Applicants of Uganda are eligible to apply for the fellowship.

Nationality: Ugandan applicants are eligible to apply for the fellowship

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have a previous year degree.

Stage 1: Join our Community

  • You’ll join 10,000+ aspiring tech leaders by expressing your interest and describing your motivations for leveraging Andela’s technical leadership resources. Complete a free application and personality/values assessment so we can learn how to further empower you as a tech leader.

Stage 2: Advance your Expertise

  • You will leverage our open-source learning resources for software development and team skills to complete a technical assessment that will evaluate your knowledge of the content you’ve learned. You can find the downloadable version of this course here.

Stage 3: Meet us Face to Face

  • Based on the quality of outputs you create you may be invited to a panel of interviews made up of staff members and developers at an Andela office.

Stage 4: Simulated Sprint

  • Successful applicants are invited to participate in a two-week, stimulated development sprint led by senior Andela developers. The two weeks comprise of one week of home-based self-learning and one week of product development on-site at an Andela campus.
  • You’ll be expected to learn independently as well as on a team to deliver a final project. We’re looking for work ethic, passion, and teamwork.

Stage 5: Become an Andelan

  • The highest performing participants are accepted into Andela’s four-year Technical Leadership Program.
