Job Summary:  The Analyst – Interconnect Billing will acts as the primary point of contact for interconnect partners’ connectivity, both nationally, regionally and globally for MTN Uganda, the role is also responsible for reporting on performance of all the Mobility services of Voice, SMS, CNS among others, and also managing the relations with partners, Augmenting interconnect agreements, detailed analytics on national, regional and international traffic and supporting the business planning and forecasting activities within the division together with management of interconnect costs. Managing the value chain of partners from onboarding of partners, management of partners up to the settlement process

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare interconnect revenue and traffic and revenue dashboards with a deep dive into any internal and external factors that might be affecting performance.
  • To Review pricing strategy on all interconnect tariff regimes and ensure no negative margins on the retail.
  • Management of interconnect costs.
  • Drive the interconnect business planning process of the company by providing drivers and assumptions for interconnect revenues and costs during the budget plan process.
  • Management of commercial arrangements, agreements, and relationships for national and international interconnections, to ensure competitive interconnection rates.
  • Effectively monitor interconnect traffic trends and route performance on the respective carriers’ routes to ensure Call Quality
  • Review and implement the correct commercial rules for A2P SMS and ensure onboarding of all potential partners and aggregators.
  • Ensure growth of SMS and mobility services revenue through active collaboration with the SMS Hub.
  • Monthly review of international traffic performance and negotiations through active collaboration with MTN voice Hub on competitive rates.
  • Work alongside Revenue Assurance and voice Hub to ensure bypass and refile traffic is minimized.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the MTN Uganda job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Statistics, Business Computing… or any other related field.
  • Two to three years of experience in a telecommunications industry
  • Experience in Interconnect environment
  • A minimum of two years of experience in reporting, data analysis and financial modelling.
