Job Title:          Anaesthetic Officer

Organization: Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services in Uganda (CORSU)

Duty Station: Kisubi, Wakiso, Uganda

Reports to: Head of Department of Anaesthesia

About US:

Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services in Uganda (for people with disability) was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, non-governmental organization and is supported by CBM (Christian Blind Mission). CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre on Entebbe Road provides Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation, mainly for children with disability.

Job Summary: The Anaesthetic Officer will provide evidence – based, safe, high quality perioperative care and anaesthesia for all patients requiring surgery at CoRSU Hospital.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Safe and efficient running of operating list
  • Punctuality and time management (aptness)
  • Ensure accurate documentation
  • Responsible for timely communication of equipment or stock problems
  • Accurate preoperative assessments
  • Regular attendance at CME meetings

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold an advanced diploma in Anaesthesia
  • SAFE paediatric anaesthesia course
  • One year of post qualification experience
  • Paediatric experience
  • Previous experience with regional blocks
  • Basic computer skills
