The Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC) will on July 26 assess graduates of Bachelor of Clinical Medicine and Community Health from Kampala International University (KIU) to ensure that they are fit for registration as health professionals.
This was communicated in a public announcement made by the Registrar of AHPC Dr. Patrick Mpiima Kibirango.
“Graduates of Bachelor of Clinical Medicine and Community Health are invited for pre-registration assessment which will be condu7cted by the council,” reads the announcement in part.
“Graduates of Clinical Medicine will be assessed on 26/7/2022 starting at 9:30 am at Uganda Institute of Allied Health and Management Science-Mulago,” it adds.
This is welcome news to Clinical Medicine students, who until recently were not catered for in the Uganda Health Sector set-up.
The Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC) was established by Allied Health Professionals Act Cap. 268 to regulate, supervise and control the training, practice and other related matters of Allied Health Professionals in Uganda.
According to the AHPC website, “Professional” means a person registered under section 24 as an allied health professional.
