Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera strike as Manchester United beat Real Madrid in Florida

Goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera earned  Manchester United a 2-1 first 90-minute win against Real Madrid in their United States.

Alexis Sanchez had a fine form, scoring the first goal and creating the second when he nodded Juan Mata’s cross into the path of Herrera, who finished with a first-time shot.

Sanchez is congratulated by team-mate Matteo Darmian after his strike gave Manchester United an early lead in Florida

Summer signing Fred started in midfield, while goalkeeper David de Gea returned to the team.

Gareth Bale started for Real but his only chance of note was a curling shot that went wide.

Teenage forward Vinicius Junior – a recent signing from Flamengo – started on the left wing for Real Madrid
