A horrifying case has emerged as a housemaid stands accused of sexually molesting a four-year-old child entrusted to her care.
The suspect, Alice Kiiza, has been charged and remanded following multiple incidents of abuse that reportedly occurred since August 2021.
Kiiza, along with her colleague Khamuka Doreen, was hired to care for three children, including two girls and a boy, at a residence in Nsasa Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.
Prior to the abuse, the employer had expressed concerns about the maids’ negligence and excessive use of smartphones, prompting her to install a hidden CCTV camera.

The footage revealed the children engaging in unsafe activities, such as playing in the mud and consuming unclean water, while the maids focused on their phones.
It is alleged that Kiiza, aged 25, subjected the young girl to horrifying acts, including piercing her private parts with sticks and causing internal damage.
After noticing behavioral changes in the children, the mother was informed about the maid’s abuse, leading to the involvement of the police. A medical examination confirmed the victim’s injuries, including bruising and a ruptured hymen.
In court, Kiiza was charged with aggravated defilement, a grave offense that carries a maximum penalty of death. Despite the evidence presented, she pleaded not guilty.
The court has adjourned the case until June 22nd, 2023, and Kiiza has been remanded to Luzira Prison until then.
This distressing incident underscores the urgent need for robust child protection measures and serves as a reminder of the importance of thorough screening and monitoring when hiring individuals responsible for the well-being of vulnerable children.
The legal process will continue to unfold as the justice system seeks to ensure justice for the victim and accountability for the accused.
