AKWATA EMPOLA HOSTEL
Seated in a distinct and organized structure, Akwanta Empola hostel is a true definition of a basic students’ residence facility. The hostel is located in kikoni valley in greater Makerere area with a number of other hostels.
The hostel according to Connie Namukasa the chief custodian is “unique” in its objective and customer preference.
It is aimed at providing basic accommodation facilities to students across the social divide, accommodative of those from other hostels who presumably must have flawed off the principles.
The hostel is part of a grand investment plan by the proprietors which started in academic year 2009-10 to among others provide accommodation to Makerere university students of both sexes at a convenient price yet providing a remarkable degree of freedom.
The cooperate environ felt by a first time visitor at the premises satisfies this maxim. The area is visibly a beehive of student activity as they walk in and out on personal errands.
In the name of student welfare services, Ms Namukasa talks of transport with a shuttle to and from the (Makerere) university on a well defined schedule as inscribed on the residential notice board.
Dstv, subsidized salon services from a hair salon within, restaurant facilities a canteen and a watching room. Mobile money booths are also visibly available at the hostel.
The hostel is visibly security conscious, with a private guard and protected with close to two fire extinguishers per every of the five flows.
