Akiim Ojok Ali voted first Guild President of Uganda Technology and Management University's (UTAMU)

Akiim Ojok Ali was voted the first Guild President of Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU). Ali won with 83% of the total votes while Simplisio Ariho, got 15%. 2% were invalid votes.

Ojok, is a 2nd year student of Bachelor of Information Systems and Technology. He says he has held various leadership positions in both primary school and secondary school.

“I am humbled, grateful and anxious all at the sometime. I feel a sense of triumph but also realize that the majority vote is representative of the great expectations the students have in me. My challenge now is to deliver,” he explained.

The Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Kenneth Twesigye announced the results at approximately 6:45 pm on Wednesday.

“On behalf of the Electoral Commission, I congratulate Ojok upon his victory! I thank both contestants for putting up a spirited fight and the students for turning up in large numbers to vote” Kenneth Twesigye.
