Berkeley Energy Uganda (BEU) is a Ugandan company that manages investments in the energy sector. Such investments include Bugoye Hydro Ltd operating Bugoye HPP in Kasese District, ARPE Ltd operating Achwa HPP2 and HPP1 plants in the and Kikagati Power Company Ltd operating Kikagati HPP in Isingiro District.

 

Job Summary:  The Company seeks to recruit a qualified Administrative Graduate Trainee. He/she will be reporting to the Office Manager.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Front desk management including receiving and directing visitors and manning the office telephone.
  • Supervise the office cleaning crew and ensure that the office is clean and kept in good hygiene.
  • Ensure that the reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures).
  • Receive, record, sort, and distribute daily mail/deliveries.
  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook) and issuance of office keys to staff accordingly.
  • Order front office supplies and keep an inventory of stock.
  • Keep updated records of office expenses and costs.
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, and scanning.
  • Assist in secretarial services and delivery of mail/parcels.
  • Petty cash management.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor

 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum Academic Qualifications, Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Business Administration or other related qualification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Display a high level of interpersonal skills including poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Able to work with little supervision and achieve superior results.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Possess a high level of integrity.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently.
