Administrative Assistant Job – National Council for Higher Education (NCHE)

About US:

National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) was established as the regulator of higher education to implement the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act of Parliament (UOTIA, 2001). By the provisions of the Act, NCHE is mandated to guide the establishment of institutions of higher learning as well as ensure delivery of quality and relevant education to all qualified persons.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Offering general administrative support to the attached office to ensure efficient and smooth day to day operations;
  • Receiving and guiding clients/visitors;
  • Generating and modifying documents including correspondences, minutes , reports, memos and emails;
  • Scheduling and coordinating events and meetings;
  • Maintaining an up-to-date filing system through proper record keeping, retrieval, retention, dissemination and storage;
  • Ordering for and maintaining office supplies;
  • Maintenance of office equipment;
  • Supervising office attendant/s to ensure general cleanliness of the office;
  • Carrying out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by superiors.

  • Filing and records system maintained;
  • Reports produced;
  • Meetings managed;
  • Appointments managed.
  • Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Administrative and Secretarial Studies or its equivalent recognized by National Council for Higher Education;
  • At least three years of experience working as Receptionist, Secretary, administrator or related portfolios;
  • Must be ICT literate;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
