About US:

Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA/SG2000) is an international non-profit organization that promotes demonstration and widespread adoption of improved pre and post-production agricultural technologies for smallholder farmers in Uganda in collaboration with relevant government institutions, farmers’ organizations and the private sector.

Job Summary:  The Accountant will be supervised by the Finance Officer and Program Coordinator by performing general accounting duties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • General accounting tasks, including reconciling and maintaining balance sheet accounts and general ledger operations, preparing journal entries, preparing monthly closing and financial reports, preparing account/bank reconciliations
  • Ensure account receivables and payables activities are performed accurately and timely
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly and Quarterly closure of accounts, including bank reconciliation, and submit reports to the Finance Officer as per prescribed deadlines
  • Ensure financial data on the accounting software, Navision Dynamic 2017 is updated

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration or any related discipline.

Extra professional training (ACCA. CPA or similar certification will be an added advantage.

Three years of experience in a reputable NGO is a pre-requisite.
