FROM THE OFFICE OF THE GUILD PRESIDENT – GULU UNIVERSITY
12th August, 2014
To: Vice Chancellor, Gulu university
Dear Sir,
RE: PLAN FOR FACULTY GENERAL ASSEMBLIES AS AN ALTERNATIVE FOR GUILD GENERAL ASSEMBLIES.
I humbly write your office to make considerations in respect of the plan which government has established as a better mechanism of establishing gaps with administration.
Over the last years, we have established that a general assembly has always not been enough to address all students and administrative issues. As a result then, Faculty and Departmental voices are often suffocated. In addition to that, the General Assembly would have so bulky a population from which students inputs would not all be considered.
I know that on one hand, Admin will argue that time shall be an issue or resource constraints which we may have, but on the other hand, the Guild Community has foreseen the following benefits from the plan it has established:
1. It will be an easier check on how the different Faculties and Departments are being operated.
2. Student community at large shall operate the closer relationship to the University.
3. The Faculty and Departmental challenges will be known easily by management.
It is therefore from the above note that we humbly ask plan and call a meeting with our office so that we make a scheduled in respect of this plan.
I humbly submit.
Yours in service,
H.E.Ogwetta Otto Andrew
