Civil Service College to open in September 2014

The Civil Service College-Uganda aimed at enhancing performance in public service will be opened in September this year. The project being funded by World Bank with sh48.8b is located on Kisinja Road in Jinja district.

The College will train public servants on how to become excellent in service delivery and economic development.

Jane Kyarisiima-Mwesiga, the commissioner of human resource development in the ministry of public service says the college will work as an in-service training centre an every new recruited public officer will be required to go through induction at the college,” Mwesiga said.

The Civil Service College-Uganda will accommodate 500 public officers; 300 residents and 200 non- residents when completed.

President Museveni, the architect of the College, is expected to open the building in September.

The College is currently housed at National Fisheries Resources Research Centre on Oboja Road.
