About US:

African Network for the Care of Children Affected by HIV/AIDS (ANECCA) was awarded the USAID Local Partner Health Services-Karamoja (LPHS-Karamoja) project Cooperative Agreement No. 72061722CA00001 (October 2021 – September 2026) to implement a comprehensive TB/HIV activity in Abim, Kaabong, Karenga, Kotido and Moroto districts, Karamoja region.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vehicles in a good mechanical condition to reduce on the rate of tare and ware (corrosion) for an effective length of service in line with ANECCA Uganda fleet management policy and the Road Safety Act.
  • Transport staff and authorized person(s) with seat belts on to a required destination and back in accordance with the ANECCA Uganda fleet management policy and the Road Safety Act.
  • Load and off load the assigned vehicle with supplies and as well drive and park these vehicles with maximum security of supplies to minimize losses and damage of property while in transit in accordance with the ANECCA Uganda fleet management policy and the Road Safety Act.
  • Make accountability for funds spent on driving operations (fuel and service done on the vehicle) and as well record & maintaining trip movement records (log books) in line with ANECCA Uganda fleet management policy and ANECCA Accounting procedures
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle and the image of ANECCA to the public through exercising road discipline in line with the ANECCA Uganda fleet management policy and the National Road Safety Guidelines.
  • Deliver official mails, messages, memos, and documents to respective destinations and make sure that they are signed for or acknowledged by the recipient in line with regional office mission and ANECCA Uganda fleet management policy.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold an A’ Level certificate and a valid driving permit with classes B, CM & DL.
  • Certificate in defensive driving skills is essential.
  • A basic administrative & transport management course is an added advantage.
  • At least five years of working experience with a reputable organization implementing field project activities. Working with USAID funded organization is an added advantage.
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment & remote areas like Karamoja
  • Demonstrated understanding and compliance to road safety& traffic rules of Uganda
