Job Summary: The Multi Country Project Coordinator, Regional Malaria Programme, will combine technical and project management skills and expertise in facilitating relations between multiple stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Offer technical oversight and strategic leadership for all project activities ensuring each project deliverable is provided as per the project timeline
- Manage the creation and implementation of a monitoring and evaluation framework
- Develop and implement a management framework for the project team
- Ensure project reporting per the project timeline
- Oversee relationships with implementation and technical service partners named in the project, ensuring each meets the terms of their contract on time
- Develop and maintain working relationships with national malaria control programmes and research institutes in Africa to galvanise commitment to evidence and knowledge
- Oversee the project’s multi-million pound budget ensuring that there is effective and accountable financial oversight
- Manage risks to Malaria Consortium including financial, reputation and security in a challenging environment
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a postgraduate and/or doctoral degree in international health, epidemiology or related discipline
- Possess significant International experience in public health, preferably on malaria in Africa
- Demonstrated leadership and team leading skills
- Possess the ability to effectively manage partnerships
- Past exposure and experience in project and financial management
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Demonstrated research background, including a record of publications
- Extensive technical knowledge and skills in malaria control
- Extensive understanding and knowledge with public health principles, including epidemiology
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation of malaria control programmes
- Good understanding of Value for Money principles
- French language will be advantageous
